About
Photography has evolved from a part time hobby to a full time passion for me. Thinking that I would be traveling the world, I purchased a Pentax SLR after graduating Marine Boot camp. Years later, I attended my first B&W photography class where I learned the technical basics of shutter, aperture and ISO as well as developing and printing my own photos.
After leaving the Marine Corps in 2004, my brother re-ignited my passion for photography and I soon purchased my first digital SLR. The ability to quickly learn and adjust from my mistakes propelled my technical photographic education.
It is within the last year, however, that I began to notice my photography was missing a lot of emotion. Friends Betty Udesen, Kevin German, and Rich Riski have all helped to mentor and guide me. I hope to use this blog not only to chart where I’ve been, but also to help others by showing the path that I’ve taken, much like Kevin’s blog has helped me.
Currently I am a Web Developer/Database Administrator working for a Title III Grant at Peninsula College.
